How To Grill Salmon?

Author: Administrator
Grill Salmon once and then you are surely going to do it again and again. Salmon is great when grilled, being a fleshy fish with enough fat content salmon is great for grilling. Choose good and healthy salmon. One important thing to keep in mind while buying fish is that fish should not smell "fishy". If your fish smells fishy just goes to show it is not fresh and healthy. See that the eyes of the fish are not cloudy and that the skin does not sag in when touched. With healthy fish, the skin would bounce back when you touch or press it.

Let's start right from the beginning, my grilling experience with salmon has been great. I just love this tasty fleshy fish and cook several salmon recipes from baking, grilling to salmon cakes, I just love it all. It is an extremely healthy fish, rich in the very important Omega 3 fatty acids and of course come the additions of protein, niacin and Vitamin B12 and D.
Grilling salmon is rather easy unlike what it is made out to be. You just need to know what to do and how to do it and you are on your way to a tasty delicious dinner. Grilled salmon with a salad - a tasty meal in itself.

-Choose the right fish. You could have the skin of the salmon on or take it off that's entirely your call. Fillets that are not too thick would grill faster and also have take in the right flavors of your seasoning. Get the right size for great taste.

-Fish does not take must time to soak in the juices and flavors as compared to chicken or other meat. Thus, seasoning it for just 15-20 would be just right. As for the seasoning you could have any seasoning of your choice. Mildly seasoned with olive oil, salt, pepper and herbs of your choice would be just perfect. You could go a step further and be more creative as you wish with rubs or marinades that suit your palette.

-Before grilling do ensure that the grill is hot. Rub the grill with a little oil to ensure that your salmon does not stick to it. You could grill using a charcoal grill or a gas grill. If using a charcoal grill the coal should be red hot before you place your salmon on it. I just love the slightly burned edges and the taste that a charcoal grill gives.

-Place your salmon on the grill and let cook for 4-5 minutes. Turn over and let the other side cook for another 4-5 minutes. You are done.

You can even have a grilled salmon party the next time. Just be sure that you don't leave your fish on the grill and forget about it. They cook fast so always have an eye on your salmon for that tasty juicy treat.
